More about the benefits of baby swimming
Physical / Social / Emotional / health and language benefits…
Our swimming classes are structured to ensure babies are constantly and continuously stimulated, through singing, participation, set movement, routine and structured progressive practices. We are introducing your baby to the building blocks of swimming, but in a fun way.
Our classes are not only great for baby but also you by strengthening your core stability, improving your posture and they aid the increase in muscle tone and the loss of calories and body fat. A 30-minute class can burn 250 calories!
For your little one, the benefits are huge where a weekly swim improves your baby’s cardio-vascular system and builds strength. Swimming can aid early walking; co-ordination and associated motor skills are also improved through regular exercise out of water.
At our classes you’ll meet other like-minded mums and dads with babies and often we see lasting friends built up.
For your little ones in the swim classes, babies interact with others in a fun and happy social environment as they splash and kick.
As babies are constantly interacting with the teacher, yourself and other babies in the clases this verbal stimulus is an aid to the development of language.
Weekly baby swim classes further develops the bond with your baby and many mums tell us that that their baby’s sleeping and feeding improves. Starting to swim at an early age familiarises children with water and gives them the confidence to swim below the water level. Water is a natural environment for babies, in which they feel safe and secure.
