Louise joined the team in 2016 after bringing both her daughters to Mini Swimmers classes.

  • Why did you join Mini Swimmers?

I saw first hand from the very beginning what both my children have and still are gaining by being taught to swim by Elaine. So to be able to join the Mini Swimmers family was a wonderful opportunity to help teach something that is not only exciting, fun but also an essential life skill, and something I feel passionate about.

  • What’s your favourite thing about teaching?

My favourite thing about teaching is seeing the confidence that grows in so many children. And to see them reach their goals.

  • Do you remember learning to swim?

It was a very different approach to what is taught today. My dad put me in a pool and said ‘swim’!

  • What do you get up to when you’re not in the pool?

I enjoy spending precious time with my daughters – we are very outdoorsy girls and we can normally be found with friends at Thorpe Perrow, Fountains Abbey, Studley Roger or the seaside.
  • Favourite post swimming snack?

Eek I don’t always have anything, maybe a banana!!

  • Favourite song in the pool?

Favourite song, gosh that’s tough! I have a few but it possibly has to be Horsey Horsey, especially when I get the mums/dads racing too!!

  • Favourite swimming stroke?

For me breast stroke, for the kids back stroke

  • Swimming qualifications?

STA Level 2 Award in Aquatic Teaching – Baby and Pre-School (Feb 2016)

  • Last concert?

The last concert I went to, crikey, I think it was when I took Mum for her 60th to the Nolans and I managed to get them to wish her happy birthday.

  • Dogs or cats?

Love both but prefer horses!

  • If you could have one superpower what would it be?

My superpower would be flight.

  • What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I wanted to be either in the mounted police or a zoologist

  • Favourite Superhero?
