Mini Swimmers Launch in Boroughbridge on Small Business Saturday

Saturday marked the grand opening of Mini Swimmers’ classes at The Crown Hotel in their hometown of Boroughbridge. Currently offering swimming lessons in Ripon and York, providing babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers with water confidence in a fun and safe environment, Mini Swimmers splashed at the opportunity to offer classes to their local community.
With swimming being an important life skill that could potentially save their life, as well as other benefits; parents are turning to private swim schools to teach their children to swim as soon as possible. Within a week of announcing the new venue, Mini Swimmers classes were full in Boroughbridge as parents of newborn to 5year olds look for local activities as a family.

“It’s really special to teach in my home town and to make a difference in the development of children in the community” said owner Elaine Ives. “Starting on Small Business Saturday just brings home the importance of using your local businesses and we are encouraging our new clients to join in the other activities in town today.”

Mini Swimmers are a family run business, founded by Elaine, an experienced baby and pre-school swim teacher. Classes are structured following the International Learn to Swim Programme (ILSP) devised by the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA). It is an exciting, motivational and progressive awards programme, which rewards mini swimmers with colourful badges and certificates. The most important part of the classes is teaching this life skill whilst having lots of fun.
